Applying for this Course

Our course is structured to accommodate different approaches to learning through a combination of asynchronous and synchronous components. We hope that this blended format ensures both flexibility and comprehensive engagement.

The asynchronous component of the course will be hosted on Moodle. For the pilot cohort, you will go through three modules, each designed to build on one another and to progressively deepen your understanding and engagement with the content. Here are the dates for each module:

  • Module 1: Opens on September 14, 2024, with all activities to be completed by October 12, 2024.
  • Module 2: Opens on October 12, 2024 with all activities to be completed by November 16, 2024.
  • Module 3: Opens on November 16, 2024 with all activities to be completed by December 21, 2024.

The synchronous live sessions are meant to enable you to engage directly with the facilitators and peers. These sessions will last 90 minutes and are critical for discussing course materials in-depth and participating in real-time collaborative activities. We will offer:

  • An optional Introductory Meeting: September 15, 2024 at 10 AM Eastern.
  • Mandatory Meetings: October 12, 2024, November 16, 2024, and December 21, 2024, each at 10 AM Eastern.

Final Project and Course Completion: All course modules, activities, and the Open Educational Resource (OER) final project must be completed by January 15. The final project enables you to apply the concepts learned and create resources that can aid the broader educational community. You will receive more information about the project once you begin the course.
